Coming highly recommended from the Bay Area, Victoria George is testing her sound with the Music City audience. Imagine the vocal blending of Bonnie Rait’s rock n’ roll and Patti Griffin’s soul with imaginative and contemplative lyrics. And the looks don’t hurt.

The blond bombshell grew up in Northern California within an artistic family, but began to really hone her craft while attending the University of Virginia where she took up the acoustic guitar and began performing around town.

She will be performing weekly at Bourbon Street Blues and Boogie Bar on Tuesday nights, beginning May 20th at 7:30pm.

She is a little bit country, a little bit rock n’ roll, but unlike the rock influence, I haven’t quite been able to put my finger on her country comparison. Perhaps she is the fill to our void for such a voice. In that case, Nashville could be the best move she ever made. All that’s left is to attest to her live performance ability and ownership of the stage. The final straw that could break a new Music City musician’s back. But if she should sound anything like the cuts available for listen on her Myspace page, there shouldn’t be any disappointment.
